Do It Yourself: Birthday Card

Making your own Birthday Card in less than 30 minutes. Take a moment to express youself and make a personalized card for a friend, family member or co-worker. It will be much more appreciated than a simple store bought card.

1.     Start by gathering what you will need: any kind of envelope, even if it is used it will do, a piece of paper (any color, even white), a magazine, scissors, glue, glitter, crayons, markers or anything else you are inspired by.
2.     Use clips from the magazine to form a theme. Remember that if you choose a color scheme and stick with it, your card will be cohesive even if it’s full of random images.
3.     Write down what you want to say and find the letters to complete your words.
4.     Place it, glue it, decorate.
5.     Since you are working with an envelope, try to keep the words on the outside of the card short and simple. Place a hand-written letter inside the envelope to make it more personal.
